Status Sosial Membutakan Negeri Ini
Hari-hari saya berjalan dengan baik, meski terkadang ada halangan, tetapi masih dapat saya atasi sendiri. Waktu saya banyak terkuras dengan kegiatan kuliah, dari pagi pulang sore. Terkadang pula saya telat sampai di rumah karena saya kumpul dengan teman-teman dan sekedar makan bersama. Esokkan harinya pun saya menjalani kegiatan yang sama, hanya saja saya tidak ada acara dengan teman, sehingga saya dapat langsung pulang ke rumah. Dalam perjalanan pulang, saya melihat seorang waria yang menurut saya ingin menjalankan pekerjaannya sebagai pengamen jalanan karena saya melihat ia membawa sebuah alat musik. Terlihat ia sedang di pinggir jalan raya sendiri dan ingin naik angkutan umum, tetapi tidak ada satu angkutan pun yang mau berhenti untuknya. Mungkin karena statusnya yang di anggap memalukan dan dapat mengganggu penumpang yang lain. Melihat dari jauh, hati saya merasa sedih melihatkenyataan di depan saya itu. Mengapa, orang yang ingin bekerja halal meski statusnya sebagai waria, ia tidak dapat di terima oleh orang lain. Menurut penilaian saya, pekerjaan ia tidak salah, dan mungkin ia pun tidak mau menjadi seperti itu, kalu saja di negeri kita dapat membantu masyarakat miskin untuk sekolah agar dapat pekerjaan yang lebih layak.
